Yoyo

I watched carefully as they grew up

“They’re a credit to you”, they’d say

Yet I’d cringe at filling another cup

Maybe too dear a price to pay

The kites and strings and boats

Winter walks in crispy snow

Who knew they’d stand and gloat?

Their dad, he’ll never know

Still, it just goes to show.
